Custom Item Tracking Guide


Below you will find information about the GEUpdate.com Exclusive feature known as 'Custom Item Tracking', this feature allows you to recieve update notifications for an unlimited number of specific items, perfect for rares or items that update at infrequent intervals. Nearly all the details of this feature are outlined below, including: 'Adding an Item', 'Removing an Item', and 'Adding Global Updates'.

Adding an Item


1. Search for Item


Search for Item

Navigate to the Runescape Grand Exchange website, and search for the item you wish to add.


2. Select the Item


Select the item you wish to add

Once you have located the item you wish to add, right click 'Open Link in New Tab'.

3. Analyze the URL


Locate the OBJ in the URL

Once you've opened the link, navigate to the tab and take a look at the URL in the Address Bar. Write down or copy the 'obj' that is located at the very the end of the URL; this is the ItemID that you'll need to add the item.

4. Login to GEUpdate.com


Login to GEUpdate.com

After obtaining the ItemID you need - Navigate to GEUpdate.com and login to your Premium account and visit the 'Custom Item Tracking' page.

5. Enter the ItemID


Type the itemID to add

Refer back to the ItemID you copied in Step 3, and enter it (numerically) into the box, after doing so, click (do not press Enter) on 'Add Item'.

6. Review Request


Make sure item added properly

At this point, you should see the name of the item you added appear with a result. If you encounter any errors (duplicate items, etc), ensure that you have not already added the item and that you *clicked* on 'Add Item', if problems persist contact an Administrator for quick resolution. Press continue... to return to your item table.

7. Examine Result


If item appears in the table, item added successfully!

If the item you added appears in the table you are now tracking that item and will recieve update notifications for it as soon as they are detected!

Removing an Item


1. Select item to Delete


View your item table.

While viewing your Custom Item Tracking table, you will notice the red X's that appear in the row of all items, clicking this X will remove the item from your table and you will will no longer recieve these update notifications.

2. Review Result


Click the red X to remove an item

If after clicking the red X, you do not recieve any error messages, your item has been successfully deleted! If you do encounter probles, ensure that you have not already removed the item. If errors persist, contact an administrator for quick resolution.

Adding Global Updates


1. Click Add Global


Click Add Global.

In the event that you have removed Global Updates, or wish to add them back - while viewing your Custom Item Tracking table, simply click on 'Add Global'.

2. Review Result


Review the result

After you've successfully added Global notifications, you should recieve update notifications for most GEUpdates - some specific items update at random intervals, this feature detects updates affecting the largest portion of Runescape items.

Using TrendTracker


1. Select the item(s) you wish to enable TrendTracker on


View your item table.

While viewing your Custom Item Tracking table, locate the dropdown boxes under the 'TrendTracker' column for each item you wish to alter. In this case, both Dragon Bones and Coal have been selected.

2. Select an Option

Once the dropdown appears, select the option you desire.

Option Explanations:
1. All - You will recieve regular update notifications ONLY. (Global cannot be modified from this).
2. Only Reversals - You will recieve TrendTracker notifications only. As long as the price direction does not change, you will not be notified of any price updates.
3. Both - You will recieve both update notifications (every price update) and TrendTracker notifications (when the price changes direction); these will be two seperate messages.

3. Save


Save Options

After modifying all the items you desire, and these options appear in the dropdown boxes, click on the 'Save' button once. This will update ALL of the items in the table. Make sure you're changing only ones you wish.

4. Review


Review Result

Upon pressing save, if you see no error messages, your selections have been saved and are in effect. Click the return link.

5. Confirm


Confirm

If once you reload the page your selections are as indicated, everything is in working order!
